Guys, for some of you, this new release could sound a little bit paradoxical, a project called Bass Battle with a new album has the guitar as the main instrument.
In beginning of this project, the bass guitar was so close to my heart, that I somehow put it on a high pedestal and for a long period of time nothing else mattered to me in terms of musical instruments… there was only the bass guitar. That is how PLAY and PLAY 2.0 came up,and don't get me wrong,I love both of them from the bottom of my heart.
Earlier this year, I bought my first electric guitar and since then I had so much fun playing it, so when I decided to start working on this new album all I could think was how lovely the guitar will fill all those demo songs. And that's exactly what happened.
A little bit contradictory here, but I guess this was my lesson to learn for this new EP.
NEVER SAY NEVER could be a shorter way to say it!
Well…in the end, it's not about the bass or the guitar, or the flute or whatever, in the end it's about music and all the emotions that music brings us.
These words are not an excuse for the use of the guitar, nor for the lack of bass solos, but it's more like a self-valuation I made, and I thought this may be a good thing to share with you.
I hope you'll enjoy it as much as I did making it.

I heard this story about a breaking band, being told that Brian Eno was at a gig to check them out for a contract. Afterwards he comes back-stage and gives his verdict: "I fell asleep". Band members crushed. Until realizing it was a great compliment, coming from Eno. I'm like Eno, in that respect. Selecting ambient tracks for calm meditation and rest, there are two Lawson albums, both from 2004, that stand out to me. This is one of them! (The other one: Grace and Gratitude.) Marc Taksi
